Our Goal in this design was to create a unique destination for all generations and genders. Currently, Jebal Jais is a location for extreme sport activities but we wanted to ensure this location was not only meant for young adults. While deciding on what we wanted to create, we wanted to stay away from proposing to build a Hotel that could only accommodate a limited amount of people and would be costly. We wanted to create an experience that people from all over the world would be fascinated by.

Sustainability should not be limited by the architectural qualities but rather to create a destination where people feel comfortable enough to want to go back and experience it again.

Have you ever thought about the mystery that lies behind the words “MIDDLE EASTERN CULTURE” for foreigners? Being sacred by its nature, it becomes magnetic and exotic for other people to have an opportunity to discover. Its about real forgotten & hidden mystery of the Emirati culture. The mystery that brings people together and that unveils to those willing to start a journey to seek for a quest.

Now imagine:

The Mountain peak of Jebel Jais hides The Treasure. Its The Spiritual Power place that brings people together. The Highest Mosque in the World (at about 1900m ) integrated into the mountain and built using mountain rocks.

The Mosque - The place of power, the hero. Built from the locally sourced  stone, it “grows” from the mountain, that keeps it shaded. The louvres allow natural ventilation.

Green Solar Power Cable Trams are available to allow people to reach the “place of power.”

The Spiritual Pools where people can swim in natural mountain water for spiritual cleansing.

Rainwater pools: The pools would be naturally filled from collected rainwater that would give life to the plantation around the mosque and thus also conserving water in the process.

What makes our idea original and attractive for the visitors?

  • Creates a connection between the world and the UAE islamic culture;

  • A Place for spiritual growth; adding spiritual health compound to the Jebel Jais.

  • New UAE Landmark;

  • Natural spiritual swimming pools;

  • Sustainable architecture integrated into the nature. Embracing the nature of Jebel Jais.

  • Use of locally sourced material.
